In a study conducted in Oklahoma for 13 instruments is often played by the school band, found in various types of bacteria and fungi in there. Six instruments played last week and the rest are not used in the last month.

Research also shows wind instrument is the most widely contain bacteria. Meanwhile, a musical instrument made of wood tend to contain more bacteria than those made of brass.
Microbes in the instrument can easily move from one child to another and potentially transmit the disease. In addition to musical instrument cleanliness, personal hygiene of children is also important to note, especially the always wash hands with soap after practicing music.
